Ellie Davis, Co-Founder Ellie has been working across the nation in social justice programs for the past 40 years. Currently, she is the director of programs and community relations at the YWCA Greater Newburyport where she has been working for the past 12 years. Her background in direct service and leadership in childcare, family literacy, staff training and development, organizational and Board consultation, collaboration, and cultural competence leads NNS to the forefront of programing that works across all nationalities and income levels.
Nancy Earls, Co-Founder Nancy is a program director with the Newburyport Learning Enrichment Center. She brings the important piece of education to the forefront of food equality. Nancy has deep roots in the North Shore community and works extremely hard to ensure that all children and families in the community have what they need to thrive.
Pam Palombo, Co-Founder Pam has been the Public Health Nurse for the City of Newburyport for the past 5 years and previously worked as a cardiac care nurse. She received her undergraduate in nursing from Duke University and her master’s from UMASS. Pam was born and raised in Massachusetts and has happily called the Newburyport area home for the past 6 years. She loves sharing her knowledge of nutrition and healthy eating with others, supporting our local growers, spending time with our incredible volunteers and working towards creating a community where everyone has access to healthy food!
Emilee Herrick (right), Program Coordinator Emilee works to maintain the gardens, organize and run programs, and work directly with local schools and farms. Emilee is a recent graduate from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a degree in Sustainable Food and Farming from the Stockbridge School of Agriculture.
Kailey Burke (left), Program Coordinator Kailey joined the NNS team as the garden manager for the 2015 season and graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst Stockbridge School majoring in Sustainable Food and Farming that May. Since then Kailey has helped build and programs, coordinate volunteers, work with local farmers, and grow the NNS gardens.
Sydney Todd , Intern – Sydney is a high school senior at The Winsor School in Boston and started at NNS this May as an intern. Although attending school in Boston, Sydney grew up and continues to live in the Newburyport area. She loves talking with people, working with food, and helping the community.

Emma Gramling, Crew Leader - Emma just finished her Sophomore year at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, MA. She is studying Environmental Studies with a concentration in Sustainable Development. She spends her free time at school hiking and playing lacrosse on the Mount Holyoke varsity lacrosse team. She is passionate about food justice and sustainability, and is so excited to be a part of Nourishing the North Shore this summer!
Mei Li Hart, Crew Member - Mei Li is a sophomore at Pingree in South Hamilton MA and at the start of next year will be transferring to Phillips Exeter Academy in NH. Last summer she interned with Backyard Growers in Gloucester, tending school and low income community gardens. Mei Li has grown up in Rockport, and is passionate about soccer and community service through gardening.
Madeleine Cormier, Crew Member - A sophomore at Ipswich High school, Madeleine participates in the school’s Green Team, a club that promotes sustainability. You can often find her swimming, volunteering in her community garden, playing cello, and spending time with friends and family. She thrilled to be further helping her community by joining Nourishing the North Shore!
Aidan Mone, Crew Member - Aidan is a junior at Newburyport High School, where he is a member of the National Honors Society and the Basketball team. Last summer Aidan was a volunteer at Nourishing the North Shore, and he is excited to be back this summer as a member if the Pitch in Crew.
